Cooking with Mima

Today, Thursday May 13th, we made "Absolute Mexican Cornbread". At circle, the West Wing children asked, "what makes it Mexican?"

At the cooking table, we read all of the ingredients. They decided that the chile peppers would make it spicy and Mexican and to leave them out because they are too spicy.

During snack there was discussion of nationalities:

Lucy T:    "I'm part Greek, part American, and Mexican."

Luca:       "I'm part Mexican!"

Jasmine:  "I don't know what I am!"

NEXT WEEK: Mima makes salad dressing with the children.  Watch for the sign up and bring in:

1 bottle of organic olive oil

4 lemons

small bottle of white wine vinegar

honey

dijon

organic Tamari Sauce

1 clove garlic

3 bags of organic salad leaves
