Flora Toro, a California Mentor with the California Early Childhood Mentor Program (CECMP) is working with two new students from SMC. They are here on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. They will be supervised at all times and are engaging with children and teachers to build their teaching skills before entering the work force. Say hi to:
Aline Valdez! She works with Flora in the West Wing, Mondays and Wednesdays. She is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education after finishing at SMC.
Atsuro Myoshi! He works with Flora in the West Wing on Tuesday and Thursday. After finishing his ECE degree at SMC he plans to transfer to a UC or CSU to further his degree in ECE. He would like to continue his study and research of early child education to expand his skills in communicating with young children. He hopes to become a professional teacher or caregiver in support of men in the field of childcare as it takes multiple perspectives to raise a healthy child.
